How To Dress To Look Taller

If you are petite or wouldn't mind looking a bit taller, then read below for fashion tips how to fake those extra inches.
A straight leg pants or dark skinny jeans with a natural or high waist will give you the illusion of longer legs. Avoid cropped or capri-pants.
Pointy heels with a low-cut vamp are best. A vamp is the part that cuts across the base of the toes. If the vamp is low, more skin will show which will elongate your legs and make them look slimmer.
Avoid midi or knee length skirts and dresses. Either go for minis or maxis. Mini-skirts show more skin so you appear to have more legs. Maxi skirts when worn with wedges hidden underneath will give you more height.
Tie your hair up in a bun above your head to create more vertical line. Longer hair if untied makes you look shorter. If you prefer to untie your hair, a hat will add extra height at the top.
A cropped and fitted jacket will create the illusion of a longer bottom half. Leave your jacket unbuttoned to create vertical lines.
V-necks help to create the illusion of longer neck.
Wear stockings in the same hue as your skirt or shoes so you with have an unbroken visual line.
Go for high-waisted bottoms with a tucked-in top so your legs appear longer.
Keep them appropriately scaled to your body size.
Avoid the oversized bag which make you look smaller.
Wear a thin belt instead of a thick belt which cuts you in half and makes you look shorter.
Wear longer necklaces to flatter the torso rather than choker styles that break up the body.
Monochrome or wearing one colour can help to make your body look longer and leaner. Wear smaller prints - large prints or too many colours make you look smaller.
